Dr. Lianshan Zhang is an associate professor in the School of Media and Communication at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Dr. Zhang received her Ph.D from National University of Singapore and a MS from Iowa State University. Lianshan’s research centers around the intersection of health communication, human-computer interaction, and media effects. Her recent studies focus on health information behaviors in the era of AI as well as the use and impact of emerging media technologies, such as social robots, on digitally disadvantaged groups. Her work aims to explore communication pathways that enhance individual well-being and contribute to societal welfare.

Lianshan’s research has been published in respected journals such as the Journal of Computer-Mediated CommunicationHealth CommunicationJournal of Health CommunicationMobile Media & Communication, and Social Science Computer Review. She has been honored with several awards, including the Top Faculty Paper Award from the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC). In addition, Lianshan contributes to the academic community by serving as a reviewer for over 20 international journals, including Communication ResearchHealth Communication, and Computers in Human Behavior.
