Call for Papers | 2025 SJTU-IAMCR Emerging Media Forum
“Intelligent Transformation and Communication Innovation”
I. Forum Background
The "SJTU-IAMCR Emerging Media Forum", jointly organized by the School of Media and Communication at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR), will be held on April 18-19, 2025, in Shanghai, China. The theme of this year’s forum is "Intelligent Transformation and Communication Innovation". Experts, scholars, and students from both domestic and international institutions, will gather in Shanghai to engage in in-depth discussions on how the intersection of media, technology, and humanities in the context of rapid digitalization and intelligent technologies is redefining and driving communication innovation and the future development of global society.
This forum will particularly focus on the role of intelligent media in addressing global challenges such as climate change, public health, social governance, and industrial transformation. The forum will explore how communication practices can promote dialogue between technology and humanities, contributing to the sustainable development of global society.
The forum will be a physical meeting and invites scholars, industry experts, and young researchers from around the world to share the latest research findings and practical experiences, fostering interdisciplinary and cross-cultural academic dialogue and collaboration. As the first collaboration between the School of Media and Communication at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and IAMCR, this forum is not only an academic event but also a significant platform for advancing innovation and cooperation in the global field of media and communication studies. IV. Submission Guidelines
1. Submission
· Submissions are only accepted through the ScholarBay online system. Please submit your paper via the following link: www.scholarbay.cn.
2. Paper Format and Length
· Submissions should be in the form of an extended abstract, either in English or Chinese.
· The document format must be in Word (.doc or .docx).
· The word limit is 1,000 words for Chinese submissions and 800 words for English submissions, including tables, figures, and references.
· Please include 4-5 keywords after the abstract.
3. Usage of Submitted Papers
· The title and abstract of submitted papers may be used for the forum website, handbook, or other promotional materials.
V. Additional Information
1. Registration Fees: The event is free of charge.
2. Other Expenses: Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and other related expenses.
